Machine Shop III

Machine Shop 3 provides hands-on instruction in programming CNC turning centers and 3-axis CNC milling machines. Building on prior machine shop coursework, students create, edit, and verify CNC programs using industry-standard workflows and introduce basic CAD using Autodesk Fusion 360 to model simple parts and generate toolpaths. Emphasis is placed on safe machine operation, accurate programming, and the relationship between CAD models, CAM strategies, and CNC execution.
